4th and 5th Graders

This year our 4th and 5th Graders are learning how to play recorders.  If you have not purchased a recorder for your child it is not to late.  The last time I checked ToysRus had them for $3.00.  They are quite decent.  I have bought a couple myself.  If you have any questions, you can post concerns and I will address each concern.  Please make sure your child purchases one for it will be counted towards their grade.
This month we will playing for our Black History Program.  Our repertoire will consist of "Juba Jive" and "Wade in the Water"
We will be following the Recorder Karate  Method. I chose this method because of the high success rate.  I want my students to walk away this year with the knowledge of  being able to play a musical instrument and understand and appreciate the work, commitment and time that  a musicians has to put in in order to be successful.
Encourage your child as they are learning the songs.  They will be rewarded with a belt every song they learn.  I will post only first names of students and the songs that they have learned.

Here is a song the students can practice with playing BAG!
